Screen printing is a printing technique whereby a silk mesh is used to transfer ink onto a substrate, except in areas made impermeable to the ink by a blocking stencil. One color is printed at a time, so several screens can be used to produce a multicolored image or design.
When it comes to pricing our screen printing services we have to take into account how many colors are needed for the design and therefor how many screens are required for the job. Every additional color or location required for the garment will need an additional screen. Additional colors generally need to be cured (heated until dry) before laying the next color onto the garment so the more colors in the design, the longer the setup and print time will be per garment. Many Screen printers have difficulty creating full color images, or even images with gradients (colors blending/fading into other colors) but not here at Alchemy. We have highly intuitive software and experienced graphic designers that can make almost any design come to life through screen printing.
